About the Park
Templeton’s open fields are surrounded by trees and sidewalks, making a very pleasant place to stroll. Colourful hand-painted tiles, created by community members, decorate the Templeton Pool building.
This park is named for its bounding street which in turn was named for William Templeton, Mayor of Vancouver 1896-1897. He died the night of his defeat in a bid for re-election. During World War I the park was used for market vegetable gardens.
