About the Park
Wide paths curve through Captain Cook Park, a peaceful place to come for a walk or to relax on a bench under the towering poplar trees. Fern and thimbleberry-lined trails wind through the natural area of the park, linking to other parks in the area.
This site was part of the Champlain Heights residential development in the early 1970s. It was named in October 1975 with reference to the adjacent Captain Cook School. Captain Cook was a British explorer of the 18th century who navigated much of the Pacific Ocean and the British Columbia coast.
