Description of work
The tablet and cairn were part of a 1920's national scheme to recognize historic Canadian places. The cairn is located on Prospect Point, directly above the 1888 ship wreck site of the S.S. Beaver. The vessel had been built for the Hudson's Bay Company at Blackwall, England, in 1835, and was the pioneer steamship of the North Pacific Ocean.
