Description of work
Dionne Paul’s bus shelter posters refer directly to 1828 – 1998, the years of the Canadian Residential School System. The posters show three girls and one little boy in school uniforms. The young girls are posed in the classic gestures of the fable “say no evil,” “hear no evil,” and “see no evil.” The boy gestures “shhh,” referencing the history of aboriginal people being silenced, kept from speaking.
