About the Park
Riley Park is welcoming to people wanting to picnic, play sports, or simply walk along the curving paths throughout the park. The park and community centre offer the city’s first universally accessible playground; sheltered by some lovely trees is another unique feature, a climbing boulder.
In 1929 the three independent municipalities of South Vancouver, Point Grey and Vancouver were amalgamated into the City of Vancouver. In December of 1930 the task of reassigning new names to parks with the same monikers was undertaken by the Park Board. Riley Park retained its name from its previous existence in the South Vancouver municipality.
