Lois Klassen is the founder of Light Factory Publications (LFP), a publisher of artist books and zines that address issues including migration challenges and textile waste. Lois Klassen is also a researcher and writer whose work has taken her to University of Texas in El Paso, SOMA Residency in Mexico City, Critical Art Media Studio at SFU Surrey, and Sointula on Malcolm Island, where Blanketing was created. A second generation immigrant/settler, born on Treaty Two Territory (Manitoba), Lois Klassen lives with gratitude on the traditional and unceded territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaɬ Nations, in East Vancouver.
