About the Park
Creekway Park is a beautiful small greenspace strategically located between Hastings Park to the south and New Brighton Park to the north. Bounded by Canadian Pacific Rail line, McGill Street, an access tunnel to New Brighton, and Bridgeway Street, the park has an east/west linear orientation.
The lush landscape provides safe and convenient pedestrian and bicycle connections to New Brighton Park and the waterfront, which are central to the overall pedestrian network of Hastings Park.
The park is a great place to walk, offering fabulous views of the North Shore Mountains and Burrard Inlet, as well as Hastings Creek. The creek was daylighted after being buried for 100 years. It will eventually connect Burrard Inlet to the Sanctuary in Hastings Park once more portions are daylighted. The stream filters stormwater and provides a rich wildlife habitat for birds, amphibians and butterflies. Nesting boxes have also been installed for small songbirds.
