Gina is a Mexican-Canadian visual artist. Her work reflects on themes of journey and freedom with bold and elevated use of colour that constantly plays within the borders of abstract and figurative form. She is known for designing spontaneously, fluidly, and without constraint working with acrylics, wax crayons, ink on paper or canvas board, combining collage and printmaking techniques.
Gina studied Architecture at Universidad de Monterrey in Mexico where she grew up. After relocating to Vancouver in 2011, Gina studied illustration and screen-printing at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
