Janice George, a member of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation, is a highly skilled weaver and educator. With a passion for preserving and sharing the traditional Coast Salish wool weaving practices, she co-founded L’hen Awtxw Weaving House. Janice George holds degrees from Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC, and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM, USA. As a hereditary chief, trained museum curator, and educator, she has made significant contributions to the indigenous arts community. Additionally, Janice George played a key role in organizing the inaugural Canada Northwest Coast Weavers Gathering.
